Senior Front-End Engineer

Jenny Veens

I build beautiful, accessible experiences on the web, and I love using logic and code to solve problems.

About

I'm a senior front-end developer and team lead with over 10 years of experience building products people actually use. Most recently I led the web engineering team at Dayforce, managing direct reports and driving front-end strategy. Before that, I shipped features as a senior engineer at League.

One of the most valuable things I've done in my career is helping other people get better at theirs.

People leadership is something I care about deeply. I've spent years mentoring developers, running code reviews that actually teach rather than just correct, and fostering the kind of culture where knowledge gets shared instead of hoarded. For four years I was a lead instructor at Juno College of Technology, teaching web development and JavaScript to 200+ students — and that experience sharpened how I communicate, give feedback, and help others level up.

I love the craft of front-end work: the architecture decisions, the performance wins, the component libraries that make a whole team faster. And I love the people side just as much.

Before tech, I studied Criminology, Psychology, and Marketing. It turns out understanding — and occasionally predicting — how people behave is pretty useful when you're building things for them.

Let's talk.

I'm currently open to new opportunities. If you're building something where design and engineering meet, I'd love to hear about it.
